Three human controlled teams so far. Looking forward to the match-up with JJNZ, since I only got to play him for one season in Legends in BB.

How are everyone's exhibition games going? My season forecast for my team is looking gloomier with each game as I can't figure out my team as currently constructed.

Interesting game today, I can't tell whether my halftime adjustments helped or not because I made a huge come back in the first 8 minutes but then played even the last 12 minutes of the second half to hang on for a one point win after being down 18 at the half.

Not a very active league forum I see. Well, in case anyone sees this, hello fellow league-mates! Best of luck the rest of the year.

At Holocron's request.
Just in start of the season conference order.

(114 6' 2" C sg sf pf), (109 7' C pf), (103 6' 3½" SF pg pf), (102 6' 5½" C PF)

Head Coach: Dave De Luca (9/11/10 20/10/10) - 16yrs

Strengths: Star Power, Size, IS, PD, Spd, Sta
Weaknesses: Passing? Reb?

They have a couple of bigs in McCain and Milligan that are almost unguardable in the post. Cheat too much guarding them and Rogers will make you pay. Carroll makes everything go, but they are a bit light on for playmaking behind him. Similarly their rebounding drops off quickly behind McCain. Overall they aren't a great passing team and their IQ is just okay, so trying to turn them over might be a plan.

Sacred Heart (143.8) - FurySK
174/13 (RS JR 6' 4" SG sf c) D`Marcus Samuels - 18 Rng, 17 IQ/Sta, 15 Hnd/Spd, 14 OS, 13 Reb
156/11 (RS JR 6' 2½" C PF pg sg) Chad Ingrosso - 14 OS/Rng/Fin/Str/Sta, 13 Pass
152/12 (RS JR 6' 3½" SF pg) Martin O`Doherty - 15 IQ, 14 PDef/Spd, 12 Reb/Pass
148/12 (RS SR 6' 3½" SG SF pg) Christopher Venable - 18 IQ, 15 Spd, 14 PDef, 13 Rng/Fin
137/12 (RS SO 6' 3" PG sf pf) Deon Blackmon - 16 IQ, 13 Spd, 12 Fin
131/13 (RS SO 6' 4" PF pg sf) Sylvester Truitt - 12 Drv
123/13 (RS FR 6' 3½" PG sg) Logan Robertson - 14 Spd, 12 IQ
123/11 (RS SO 6' 9" PF C) Howard Davies - 16 IQ, 13 IS/Rng, 12 Reb
123/10 (RS SO 6' 10" C) Brad Whittington - 15 IS, 14 Reb/IQ
(107 6' 3" SF sg)

Head Coach: Silvio Carreras (8/9/10 15/10/12) - 6yrs

Strengths: IQ, Rng, Spd, PD, backcourt depth
Weaknesses: ID, Sta, frontcourt depth.

You have to pick up Samuels at half court, he's got that much range. Great athlete, he'll wear his man down and then start making it rain. They really only have 2 guys they want to play in the frontcourt, having to throw the ultra-raw Farr into the fray more than they would like. They don't have a true playmaker, relying on everyone knowing where they are meant to be and playmaking by committee.

Eastern Illinois (142.7) - Rickyride
168/13 (RS JR 6' 6" PG SF sg) Buck Cole - 18 Pass, 17 Rng, 16 IQ, 15 Fin/Hnd/Spd, 13 PDef/Sta
160/11 (SR 6' 4" SG PG) Damon Williams - 18 Pass/Spd, 15 PDef, 14 Fin/Hnd, 13 OS
147/11 (SR 6' 4" SF pf c) Samuel Mitchell - 15 Pass, 14 Str, 13 OS, 12 IS/Sta
144/11 (SR 6' 6½" PF C) Joe Ogle - 14 IS/IDef/PDef, 13 Sta, 12 Hnd
139/11 (SR 6' 6½" C PF) Dion Gustafson - 16 IQ, 15 Reb/IDef, 14 IS
135/12 (RS SO 6' 3" SF sg) Kyle Fuller - 17 IQ, 13 OS, 12 PDef
123/12 (RS FR 6' 1½" SG PG) Craig McAlister - 14 Spd, 12 OS/Pass/Str
123/11 (RS FR 6' 5" PF sg sf c) Zack Connelly - 14 IQ
(119 6' 6½" PF sg c), (117 6' 8" C sg), (115 6' 1" PG sg sf), (115 6' 4½" PG SF sg), (113 7' 2" C)

Head Coach: Dan Brooks (11/11/10 18/10/15) - 16yrs

Strengths: Pass, IS?, PD
Weaknesses: Size

Cole and Williams might be one of the best passing backcourts in all of college basketball. They are really going to elevate the games of those around them, and each other, with their playmaking. 7'2" Copeland is the size they need, but is the red-shirt freshman ready yet? Besides him they are relying on a trio of 6' 6½" guys, two of them are fairly skilled, but its definitely a frontcourt with some question marks. Mitchell vs Fuller should be a good duel for SF.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (142.3) - Bucfan 2.0
164/12 (SR 6' 5" PG sf) Oscar Richardson - 19 PDef, 16 Hnd, 15 Pass/Spd, 14 IQ/Sta, 13 Rng
156/11 (SR 6' 4" SF pg) Stephen Tanner - 18 Spd, 16 IQ, 14 Fin/Hnd, 12 OS
147/11 (JR 6' 4" SF sg pf c) Thomas Bianco - 14 Rng/PDef/Spd, 13 Reb, 12 IS/OS/IQ
143/11 (RS SR 6' 4½" SG PG) Andy Golden - 16 OS/Str, 13 Hnd, 12 Fin/PDef/Pass
142/11 (RS SR 6' 9½" C pf) Adrian Pruett - 13 Spd, 12 Fin/IQ/Pass/Drv
141/11 (RS JR 6' 8" PF c) Adrian Glenn - 15 IDef, 14 IQ/Spd, 13 Sta
130/12 (RS SO 6' 5½" SF pf c) David Pearson - 12 IS/OS/Spd
127/11 (RS SO 6' 8½" PF C) Dennis Gale - 15 IQ, 12 IS/PDef
120/11 (RS SO 5' 11½" PG sg) Stan Nelson - 13 IQ/Pass, 12 PDef/Spd
(100 6' 6" PF pg c)

Head Coach: Roman Campbell (15/6/10 12/10/6) - 2yrs

Strengths: PD, Spd, IQ, backcourt size
Weaknesses: Rng, IS?

Richardson is going to lock up your PG so be prepared. Their frontcourt is just okay, post scoring and rebounding coming by committee, but with enough avenues of attack to keep you on your toes. The offense can look a bit cramped if Richardson and/or Bianco are off the floor, so they'll look to turn you over and score in transition instead.

CS Fullerton (140.1) - xela
158/12 (JR 6' 4½" PF c) Vance Starnes - 17 IQ, 14 Str, 13 OS/Spd/Sta
158/12 (JR 6' 9½" C pf) Kevin Maddox - 18 Str, 15 OS/IDef/IQ, 14 Rng, 13 IS/Reb
150/13 (SO 6' 2" SF pg sg pf) Brant Jordan - 18 IQ, 14 OS, 13 Hnd/Drv, 12 PDef/Str
134/11 (RS JR 6' 2" sg pf) Lloyd Russell - 14 Rng, 13 OS/Hnd, 12 Str
132/12 (SO 6' 9½" PF C) Ron Jonsson - 17 IQ, 13 Reb
130/12 (SO 6' 3" SF pf c) J.B. Wise - 16 Spd, 12 OS
128/11 (RS FR 6' PG c) Arnold Hill - 13 Spd, 12 IS/Fin/PDef
128/11 (RS SO 6' 2½" SG pg sf) Larry Wakefield - 16 Spd, 13 OS, 12 Str
127/11 (RS JR 6' 2½" SG SF pf) Mitch Lee - 18 Spd, 14 Sta
(110 6' 3" PF sg)

Head Coach: Toren Kline (11/13/10 17/10/14) - 16yrs

Strengths: Str, IQ, OS, ID,
Weaknesses: Sta, Pass, Hnd, Drv, frontcourt depth

Madd-ox is an animal that likes to bully his opponents inside and out. They have a good spread of scorers, but tend to play too much iso-ball, reluctant to include their team-mates and not great off the dribble, either. Still with this many shooters somebody is going to have a good match up and they are smart enough to work out who that is. They do get short in a hurry after Maddox and Jonsson if you can make either of those guys sit life becomes a lot easier.

Connecticut (138.5) - Gluecows
176/12 (SR 6' 9½" C PF) Sheldon McKenzie - 19 Str, 18 Reb/IDef, 17 OS, 15 IQ, 14 Spd, 13 Sta
175/12 (RS SR 6' 9½" PF SF c) Dave Perry - 17 IDef, 16 PDef/IQ, 15 IS/Rng/Spd, 14 Reb
145/13 (SO 6' 4½" SG pg sf pf c) Devin Simms - 14 Rng/Fin, 13 Drv, 12 Spd
142/12 (RS JR 6' 3" SF pg) Kendall Hill - 14 OS, 13 IQ/Pass, 12 IS/PDef
131/12 (RS JR 6' 5½" sf pf) Brad Wright - 13 Hnd, 12 Rng/Reb/IQ
123/12 (RS FR 6' 8½" pf pg sg c) Joe Sanders - 15 Spd, 14 IQ, 12 OS
104/12 (FR 6' 2½" PG SG) Carl Curtis - 16 Spd
102/11 (FR 6' 2½" SG sf) Joel Newton - 16 IQ
(101 6' 5" C pg sg sf)

Head Coach: Cliff Harvey (12/7/10 10/10/16) - 5yrs

Strengths: Star frontcourt, ID, Reb, PD,
Weaknesses: Depth, Pass, Hnd

With McKenzie and Perry patrolling the paint you're going to have a tough time scoring inside. They form a nice inside-outside tandem on the offensive end, and will beat you on the boards most nights as well. Their guards and wings are not nearly so scary however. Hill is still developing as a PG. Simms can slash and will be a problem as an upperclassman, but isn't quite there yet. Their bench looks like being 4 freshmen, only one of who has red-shirted. Can the starters score enough to beat the top teams?

Campbell (136.5) - Jornell
151/10 (RS SR 6' 5" C SF PF) Milton Granger - 17 IQ/Str, 16 OS, 13 IS, 12 Sta
144/11 (RS SR 5' 9" PG) Stepan Evgeny - 16 Spd, 13 IQ/Hnd, 12 OS/Rng/Fin/PDef
142/12 (RS JR 6' 4" pf sg sf) Maurice Griffey - 19 IQ, 13 Rng/Sta, 12 Fin
141/11 (RS SR 6' 2" SF sg) Ayman Darwish - 14 Spd, 13 PDef/IQ, 12 OS/Rng
138/11 (RS JR 6' ½" pg sg pf) Jerry Sauer - 15 Fin, 14 Rng, 12 OS/Sta
126/12 (JR 6' 4½" SF PF) Bobbie Walter - 13 Hnd
125/10 (RS SO 6' 3½" SF) Eric Nielson - 16 Spd, 14 Rng
124/10 (RS FR 6' ½" PG sg) Spencer Wright - 18 IQ, 15 Spd, 13 Rng/Fin
(118 6' 5" SF), (110 5' 11½" SF pg sg pf)

Head Coach: Ethan Gold (15/17/10 14/10/6) - 16yrs

Strengths: IQ, Rng, Fin, OS
Weaknesses: no bigs, Drv, IS, ID, Reb, Pass

No true PG and starting 6'4" and 6'5" PF&C is going to make things way harder than it should be. Granger's strong, plays smart and has a good to great all around scoring game, but he's ideally a SF/PF, not a starting 5. Having so many guards who can finish, but can't drive isn't helping much either. They do have some decent shooters and they'll get it going from deep some nights.

Mount St. Joseph (134.2) - borgy
146/12 (RS SR 6' 2" pg sg) C.C. Neal - 18 IQ, 15 Pass, 14 Hnd, 12 OS
141/13 (JR 6' 5½" SG pg sf pf) Roland Greco - 14 Rng/Fin, 12 OS/Pass/Drv
141/12 (SR 6' 7½" PF C) Jose Velarde - 14 OS/Reb/Str, 13 IDef/Sta
141/13 (JR 6' 8½" PF sf c) Jayden Glass - 12 IS/IDef/IQ
136/12 (JR 6' 3" SG pg sf pf) Gary Parsons - 15 Spd, 14 Hnd, 13 Fin, 12 IQ
133/12 (JR 6' 10" C pf) Nelson Hightower - 17 IQ, 13 Spd, 12 Rng
131/11 (RS SR 6' 11" C pf) Rich McDuffie - 14 Reb, 13 Str
114/10 (SR 6' ½" sg) Evan Givens - 13 OS, 12 Str
(106 6' 9" PF sf c), (105 6' 4" SF pf)

Head Coach: Arnold McNair (6/19/10 15/10/12) - 10yrs

Strengths: Height, Reb, Depth
Weaknesses: Star power, PD

They run 7 deep, they have few weaknesses, but few strengths either. Neal's a smart, floor general - McDuffie and Velarde will clean the glass. Maybe having a spread of scorers and being able to avoid their opponents best defender each night will work for them?

Wisconsin (131.0) - Vaughan86
158/12 (JR 5' 11½" PG SG) Rueben Mondragon - 16 Spd/Sta, 14 Pass, 13 Rng/PDef
158/12 (JR 6' 5½" SG pg sf pf) Herb Heard - 19 Spd, 15 Hnd, 14 OS/Fin/Drv
147/13 (RS JR 6' 8½" C sg pf) Sam Fanelli - 14 Rng, 13 Reb/Spd
132/11 (RS JR 6' 3½" SF) Bill Alexander - 15 IQ, 14 Rng, 12 Drv
121/11 (RS JR 6' 4½" sg) Scottie Wells - 15 IQ, 12 Rng/Drv
116/12 (SO 6' 6½" PF sf c) Chauncey McCoy - 12 IQ
107/13 (RS FR 6' 7½" PF c) Joe Mundy - 13 Spd
103/13 (FR 6' 3" SG PF) Rick Hill - 10 IQ/Spd

Head Coach: Vic Gallagher (11/10/3 5/3/12) - 16yrs

Strengths: Spd, Rng, Drv, IQ
Weaknesses: Depth, ID, PD

Their top 3 are pretty good, but the talent drops off in a hurry with their combo guards and forwards having a lot of overlapping strengths and flaws. Fanelli on the inside and Mondragon on the outside can defend, but after that it gets sketchy in a hurry.

UC Santa Barbara (130.0) - dkorchak79
160/12 (SR 6' 5" SG SF pf) Caden Whaley - 18 Rng, 15 Sta, 14 OS/Pass/Hnd
137/11 (JR 6' 2" PG sg) Devin Grey - 14 IQ/Pass/Sta, 13 PDef, 12 Hnd/Spd
131/11 (SR 6' 2½" PG sg) Wayne Crow - 17 Spd, 14 Pass, 13 Hnd
127/10 (RS SO 6' 3½" PG sg) Connor Hardy - 13 Pass, 12 Hnd
125/11 (JR 6' 9" PF C) Matthew Fitzpatrick - 16 IS, 12 IDef/IQ/Sta
123/12 (RS JR 6' 9" c) Rex Webb - 15 IQ, 13 Rng
119/12 (SR 6' 9½" PF c) Floyd Sykes - 12 Rng
114/11 (RS SO 6' 6½" PF c) Kenneth Barkley - 13 Fin
(114 6' 11½" C pf), (112 6' 2" SF SG pg)

Head Coach: Sid Shook (14/17/10 16/10/10) - 5yrs

Strengths: Pass, Hnd, Size?, Rng
Weaknesses: Reb, ID, Str, Drv, OS

Whaley looks like a really nice 3, Grey's alright, but the rest of the rotation is a bit below average. If they all play then they have plenty of tall bodies to throw at your bigs. Fitzpatrick hasn't played in the first couple of games, he would be focal point for their offense and take some attention away from Whaley. They do move the ball well, but its hard to see who is going to score the ball reliably outside of Whaley and Fitzpatrick.

Northern Arizona (129.1) - crackit
148/11 (RS SR 6' 10½" C pf) Julian Ball - 18 Reb, 16 IQ/Str, 15 IDef, 14 OS
139/11 (JR 6' 10" PF C) Sandy Howell - 14 IDef/IQ, 13 Str, 12 OS
130/11 (SO 6' 2½" PG sg sf) Lorenzo Ortiz - 16 Spd, 14 IQ, 13 Pass, 12 OS
128/11 (JR 6' 8" C PF) Clyde Poindexter - 17 IQ, 13 IDef, 12 IS
127/12 (JR 6' 4" SF sg pf) Hank Clay - 16 IQ, 14 OS, 13 Str
126/12 (RS JR 6' 2" sf pf) Leo Ainsworth - 12 Rng/Spd
121/11 (RS SR 6' 7" pf sf c) Eddie Clancy - 14 PDef, 12 Reb/Pass/Drv
119/12 (RS FR 5' 10" SF pg sg) Sammy Cason - 15 Spd, 12 PDef
(110 6' 7" PF SF c), (103 6' 2" SF sg pf)

Head Coach: Norm O'Conner (15/10/10 2/10/16) - 9yrs

Strengths: Frontcourt, Size, ID, IQ
Weaknesses: Sta, Drv, Hnd, Fin, Pass

Ball's a great rebounder and staunch interior defender with a pretty decent stroke. They are big at 3-4-5, overall they are pretty decent defensively but they too have a lot of guys who are just that bit below average for this conference and I suspect they get out-tallented most nights. They don't have great inside scoring, preferring to spread the floor with a number of okay mid-range shooters. Ortiz is an okay PG, maybe Clancy can create something occasionally, but they don't have great play-making .

Jacksonville State (126.5) TripleDUB
134/10 (SR 6' 8" C pf) Marquise Griffin - 15 Spd, 13 Reb, 12 IDef
131/12 (SO 6' 5" sf pg) Gregg Shaw - 14 IQ/Spd, 13 Fin
129/12 (SO 6' 2½" SF pf) Jerome Frey - 15 IQ, 13 OS
128/12 (JR 6' 1" PG SG sf) Teddy Battle - 14 OS, 12 Spd
127/11 (JR 6' 1" PG SG sf) Charlie Rigon - 14 Rng, 13 Hnd/Spd, 12 OS
127/12 (JR 6' 5" SF sg pf c) Adrian Beltran - 17 Spd, 13 Sta
124/13 (FR 6' 2" PG sg) James Donald - 15 Spd, 12 OS
120/12 (SO 6' 10½" C pf) Vincent Mead - 16 IQ, 12 Reb
(111 6' 4" sg pg sf), (105 7' 1" C)

Head Coach: Darren Wiese (10/8/10 10/10/18) - 16yrs

Strengths: Spd, IQ
Weaknesses: Star Power

Another team with a raft of replacement or just a little below average players. They don't have great playmakers, they have a variety of okayish scoring options. They will probably look better in a year as they graduate just the 1 senior, but this is looking like a rebuilding year.

Cal State Los Angeles (125.8) - Charles07
142/12 (JR 6' 5½" SG PG sf) Toren Wyatt - 16 Spd, 15 IQ, 14 Hnd/Drv, 13 Sta
139/12 (RS SR 6' 8½" PF C) Joshua Carroll - 15 IQ/Str, 14 IS/OS, 13 IDef
135/12 (SR 6' 4½" SF sg) Jermaine Hunter - 14 OS, 13 Rng/Drv/Str/Spd
133/12 (JR 6' 10½" C PF) Zion McGhee - 14 IQ, 13 IS/Reb, 12 Rng
126/12 (SO 6' 4" SF sg pf) Mo Carson - 13 Spd, 12 OS
111/13 (RS FR 6' 7" SF sg pf) Johnnie Ham - 16 IQ
106/10 (SR 6' 8½" c pf) Chris Isbell - 12 OS/Str
105/11 (SO 6' 11" C PF) Wyatt McIntyre - 12 IS
(101 6' 10" C pf)

Head Coach: Malik Wood (13/11/10 15/10/9) - 7yrs

Strengths: OS, IQ, IS?
Weaknesses: Star Power, PD, Fin, Pass, Reb

Carroll is probably their best player and he can score inside and from the mid-range as well as protecting the interior. McGhee and Hunter give them some more scoring options. They have decent size, but aren't deep on talent. They have particularly have passing and rebounding deficiencies, so they are likely to be giving their opponents extra possessions most games. I'm not sure they will score efficiently enough to overcome that more often than not.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (122.9) - sudeidad
170/13 (SR 6' 9½" C) Ken Clymer - 17 Sta, 16 Str, 14 IS/Reb/Spd, 13 OS/PDef
150/11 (SR 6' 9" C PF) Cliff Gatlin - 17 IS, 16 Str, 15 Reb, 14 OS/Sta
119/10 (SR 6' ½" PG sg) Norm Jacob - 12 Rng/Fin
112/10 (JR 6' 4" PF sf) Ralph Armstrong - 11 Hnd
111/10 (SR 6' 9" SG c) Dominique Ross - 12 Spd
110/10 (JR 6' 11½" PF C) Derrick Huber - 13 Reb
103/11 (FR 6' ½" SF PG sg) Ernest Dawson - 12 OS/Spd
99/11 (FR 6' 6½" PF sf) Francisco Ramírez - 12 Spd

Head Coach: Tevin Patten (20/15/10 18/10/5) - 16yrs

Strengths: Frontcourt Pair, Reb
Weaknesses: ID, Pass, Hnd

Patten does amazing things with what little he can recruit, but he will once again have his hands full coaching these guys up this season. Clymer and Gatlin will definitely get theirs, but who is going to get them the ball? They are really lack-lustre after their top 2.

Chapman University (120.5) - Chapman
136/11 (RS SR 6' PF pg) C.J. Haynes - 15 Rng/Pass, 13 PDef/Hnd, 12 IS/Sta
133/11 (JR 6' 3½" SG PG) Gordon Callaway - 16 IQ, 15 Spd, 13 Fin/Pass
122/11 (RS SR 6' 5½" sf pf) Rich Harvey - 14 Rng/Fin, 12 IQ/Hnd
120/11 (JR 6' 10½" C PF) Dick Kasper - 13 IS, 12 Spd
116/10 (SR 6' SG) Lucas Gilley - 13 Spd, 12 Drv
114/10 (RS SO 6' 1½" pg sg) Matt Lanier - 16 IQ, 12 OS
111/12 (JR 6' 4½" SF c) Adrian Ragsdale - 11 Pass/Hnd/Sta
110/10 (RS SO 6' 2" sf sg pf) Colby Douglas - 11 OS
(105 5' 8" PG sg sf), (104 6' 4½" SF PG)

Head Coach: Zane Bench (20/11/10 5/10/5) - 10yrs

Strengths: IQ?, IS? Rng?
Weaknesses: Size, ID, Sta

6' 10½" Kasper is their sole big, (Barnett is a stiff). They have some playmaking, but will be relying on some inconsistent targets. They don't really have obvious strengths to play to and most of their rotation players have some real warts.

UC Riverside (106.4) - [bot]
129/11 (SO 6' 2" PG sg) Jimmy Farrell - 13 OS/Str/Spd, 12 Pass
122/12 (SO 5' 10½" PG sg) Rich Flood - 15 IQ, 12 Fin/Pass/Spd
115/11 (SO 5' 11½" SG pg sf) Gilberto Correa - 14 Spd, 12 Rng
114/12 (JR 6' 2½" SF pg sg) Emil Samuelsson - 14 OS
105/10 (JR 6' 3" SG pf) Ricky Fortune - 13 OS
105/10 (JR 6' 6½" PF c) Marko Tomić - 11 IS/Reb/Spd
95/10 (SO 6' 4" SG pg) Zion Lewis - 13 Spd, 12 IQ
82/7 (JR 6' 5" PF sf) Bill Ferguson - 10 IQ

Head Coach: Rodger Weiss (13/10/10 14/10/11) - 16yrs

Strengths: OS, Spd?, Fin?
Weaknesses: ID, PD, Reb, Talent

There is a collection of guys who quite like shooting the ball around in warm ups, but don't do a whole heap else. This team has 5 scholarship players. Farrell will probably become a player, Correa might, but probably not this season and they'll have no help.

CS Fullerton change president. Welcome Loobins. You're 7-0 in conference which is a nice place to take over.

VMI land a stud 4* big in Keith Sizemore. He looks like he'll become a great 2-way player that should dominate the glass. Great get for them.

Lots of teams with similar records playing next round so we should know a bit more about the conference table after next round.

5-2 RHIT vs 5-2 CSULA
4-3 MTSTJ vs 4-3 FRNKL
2-5 CONN vs 2-5 WSU

2017 Early Recruiting Round-Up

CSF (7/7)
3* 102/11 6' 5½" C - M (Lx3)
2* 83/11 6' 5½" C - L (-)

- The rebuild starts, but there's a lot of missed time to make up.

SMC (2/4)
3* 110/12 6' 2" PG - Harold Ellis - 14 Spd, 11 OS, 10 Rng
Recruiting Evaluation: Could be an excellent shooter. Could really be a long-range shooter. Can be a decent rebounder. Will never be a good perimeter defender. Can be a skilled passer. Can be a really good ball handler. Can be a speedy player. Will flourish in a fast pace offense. Excellent all-around player. Projected Height: 6' 4".

3* 103/12 6' 1" SG - Paxton Turner - 10 Pas
Recruiting Evaluation: Above average post moves. Could be a good shooter. Could really be a long-range shooter. Can be a skilled passer with exceptional court vision. Can be a decent ball handler. Excellent all-around player. Projected Height: 6' 2".

3* 97/11 6' 7½" C - M (-)
3* 102/12 5' 10½" SG - L (Lx1)

- Pretty happy with where I'm sitting, though I would have liked that SG to commit earlier

CSULA (4/4)
4* 110/13 6' ½" PF - H (Mx2, L)
3* 88/13 6' 4" C - H (-)
3* 84/12 6' 3" PF - H (H)
3* 87/12 6' 2½" C - M (M)

- Haven't inked anyone yet, but they are in the box seat on a 4* and will get a high potential 3*. Not overly likely to sign 4 players at this stage.

VMI (4/6)
4* 113/12 6' 6½" C - Keith Sizemore - 12 IQ, 10 IS/OS/Reb/Spd
Recruiting Evaluation: Could be a good post player. Could be an above average shooter. Can be a monster on the boards. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Will be a below average ball handler. Can be a speedy player. Projected Height: 6' 9".

2* 82/11 6' 4½" PF - Bobby Weber - 12 Spd, 11 IQ
Recruiting Evaluation: Does not have much of a shooting touch. Can be a monster on the boards. Can be a really smart player. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Will be a below average ball handler. Can be a speedy player. Projected Height: 6' 7".

3* 105/11 6' 10" C - H (H, L)
3* 93/12 6' 8" C - H (H, L)
3* 87/12 6' 4" PF - L (-)

- Sizemore and Weber is a great start. If they can snag both their High interest ties that will be a very good class. Even one would still be good.

MTSTJ (4/4)
3* 115/11 5' 9½" PG - H (M, Lx6)
3* 112/12 6 '2" SF - H (H, Lx3) - RHIT also at H
3* 107/12 6' 5" PF - H (Hx2, M, Lx6)

- Should land the PG, but there's a worryingly high chance of only signing that guy. Need at least 2, preferably 3 this year.

FRNKL (3/4)
3* 115/11 5' 11½" PG - David Hammond - 16 Spd, 11 OS/Rng, 10 Sta
Recruiting Evaluation: Could be an excellent shooter. Could really be a long-range shooter. Can never be a good rebounder. Will never be a good interior defender. Can be a really good ball handler. Will be quick as lightning. Good all-around player. Projected Height: 6' 3".

2* 117/11 6' 8½" C - H (Lx7) JuCo
3* 105/11 6 '2" PF - H (M)
3* 100/12 6' 1" PF - M (Lx2)

- In the box seat on all 4 recruits. Hammond is the best player they were on, so great to get him early.

RHIT (3/5)
3* 111/12 6' 2" PG - Emiliano Marti - 13 Spd, 10 OS/Rng/IQ
Recruiting Evaluation: Above average post moves. Could be an above average shooter. Could really be a long-range shooter. Can be a decent rebounder. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Can be a skilled passer with exceptional court vision. Will be a below average ball handler. Can be a speedy player. Excellent all-around player. Isn't much of a student and may not qualify academically. Projected Height: 6' 6".

3* 98/12 6' 5½" PF - Neal Solheim - 13 IQ, 9 Pass
Recruiting Evaluation: Could be an excellent shooter. Can be a decent rebounder. Can be a smart player. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Can be a skilled passer with exceptional court vision. Will be a below average ball handler. Excellent all-around player. Projected Height: 6' 9".

4* 105/13 6' 1" SG - H (H)
4* 99/13 5' 11" SG - H (Hx2, M, L)
3* 112/12 6 '2" SF - H (H, Lx3) - MTSTJ also at H

- Signed 2 soldi players and have some lotto tickets in on 3 better ones. Very good ceiling on this class.

UTM (4/4)
3* 126/12 6 '8" PF - M (M, L) - JuCo
3* 110/11 5' 10" PF - M (L)

- Not many irons in the fire here.

MSU (6/6)
3* 97/11 5' 8" PG - H (-)

- They have that PG wrapped up, but they will still have 5 open scholarships next year.

NAU (4/4)
3* 89/12 6' 8" C - H (-)
3* 84/12 6' ½" SG - H (-)
2* 89/10 6' ½" PF - H (-)
3* 99/12 6' 1" SF - H (L)
3* 99/12 6' 7" C - M (Lx2)

- I like the SF and somewhat contested C. The others are more projects that might pan out. They can only get 4 of these 5, will they get the 4 they want?

WSU (4/5)
3* 94/11 6' 3½" SF - Rich Foley - 15 IQ, 9 OS/Sta
Recruiting Evaluation: Could really be a long-range shooter. Can be a smart player. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Can be a decent ball handler. Projected Height: 6' 3".

3* 86/12 5' 10½" SG - H (-)
3* 107/12 5' 9½" PG - H (Lx3)

- Looks like they only want 3 this year and they are on pace to get their targets.

UCSB (9/10)
3* 105/11 6' 5" C - Darius Liles - 13 Spd, 9 Fin/Sta
Recruiting Evaluation: Can never be a good rebounder. Can be a good all-around defensive player. Will be a below average ball handler. Can be a speedy player. Projected Height: 6' 8".

4* 118/12 6' 5" C - H (H, M, L)

- So many open scholarships. The 4* C would be great. Liles looks fairly vanilla, be interesting to see how he goes. Probably need to look for some more value picks.

CONN (2/2)
3* 111/11 6' 8½" C - H (Hx2, Lx8)

- Look to be more focussed on future years.

CPLY (2/2)
3* 111/12 6' 2½" SG - H (M, Lx2)
3* 95/12 6' 3½" SF - L (-)
3* 94/11 6' 11" C - M (M)

- They could really use that big. Have to hope the SF doesn't ink before him. SG has an interesting/unorthodox skillset, but should get enough strengths to be useful.

WI-W (4/5)
2* 95/10 6' 6" PF - Austin Jensen - 14 IQ, 10 IS, 9 Fin
Recruiting Evaluation: Could be a dominating post player. Does not have much of a shooting touch. Can never be a good rebounder. Can be a really smart player. Can be a really good ball handler. Will always be a bit sluggish. Projected Height: 6' 9".

3* 95/11 6' 4½" PG - L (Lx3)

- Jensen gives them some much needed size and a scoring focus. Be nice to fill at least 3 scholarships this year I would think.

ILL (7/7)
4* 105/13 6' 1" SG - H (H)

- As nice as the 4* SG would be, they really need some more warm bodies for next year.

I was all prepared to be excited for my old rival Bucfan on his 4* signing....

But, he hasn't logged in since new years day. Hopefully he's just enjoying a holiday as RHIT are set up for long term success.

We have reached the midpoint of the season.

CS Fullerton had a dream run to start conference play, but have lost their last 2 against the other teams in the top 3 to show signs of mortality.

Saint Mary’s had an early loss when missing 2 starters and were tripped up by Tennessee Martin in an OT game. They also sit at 13-2, 12 GD behind CSF.

The hottest team in the conference right now is Mount St. Joseph who are riding a 7 game win streak. They round out the top 3 with their 11-4 record, 2 games clear of a pack of promotion hopefuls.

CSLA, VMI, FRNKL & NAU all carry 9-6 records into the second half. CSLA has a much better GD than the others (even markedly better than MTSTJ) but all 4 are still in the running.

RHIT (8-7) and MSU (7-8) look to be somewhat comfortable in regards to staying up, but are probably looking over their shoulders than aspiring for a top 3 finish.

Tennessee Martin had a bit of a disappointing first half for mine and GD alone sees them in 10th. They are joined by Weber State and Cal Poly with 6-9 records. Should be a dog fight to avoid relegation to division 2.

UCSB(5-10) and CONN(4-11) will still hold some hopes of staying up. Those hopes will be fading if not already gone for WI-W(3-12) and ILL(2-13) in the bottom 2 spots.

UCSB’s C, Webb leads all scorers with 23.3ppg, but I think it’s CSLA’s C McGhee (20.5p 13.3r 1.7b) who is probably the POTY front runner. Don’t discount guys like MTSTJ’s PG Greco (17.5p 7.2a), UTM SG Arnold (20.5p 3.5a 1.9s) or CSF’s PG Jordan (18.2p 6.9a 1.9s) though. That trophy is far from won.

Good luck to the active managers in the 2nd half.

* CSLA @ NAU - who want to stay in touch with MTSTJ and contend for promotion? Big game for 2 promotion contenders.

* RHIT @ UCSB - RHIT find themselves just above the demotion line with UCSB being one of 3 teams just 1 win behind. UTM and WSU both have tough games, can RHIT get some separation, or will UCSB drag them back to the pack?

As we head towards the end of conference play. CSF and SMC need just 1 more win or 1 more CSLA loss to clinch promotion. Still even on wins for the title, but CSF seem to be consistently better at winning big.

CSLA and MTSTJ are just 1 win apart, but CSLA has a hefty +181 GD.

At the other end its WSU and CPLY duking it out do avoid relegation, with RHIT just 1 win above them.

Here's a look at some of the best attributed players in the conference.

Naph's All Conference Teams

I've used only conference stats and John Hollinger's Game Score (which doesn't factor in things like OFG% or USG%) and weighted it slightly based on team record. I haven't factored in games missed. Without further disclaimers, here it is.

Player of the Year: Rex Webb (UCSB 6'9" RS SR C)
Freshman of the Year: Reginald McCain (UTM 6' 7½" C pg pf)

All Conference Team

PG1 - Brant Jordan (CSF 6' 2" JR PG SF) - 33.4mins 17.6p (.477/.312/.815) 2.8r 7.1a 1.8s 0.2b 3.0to 2.7pf (16.05)

Looks like it has been a few months since anyone posted here. I jumped up to this conference, but with only using Phone, I won’t be posting much until I get a new graphics card for my computer.

I beat San Diego for the 2nd year in a row. Looks like my team really matches up well against them, but can't beat anyone else. Just intriguing for sure as it does not make sense! lol

wow, above we only had players from 3 teams today. That doesn't happen normally. Looks like some good games that spread the talent out a bit today.

Hardin-Simmons seems to be on a hot streak, and hope it continues to bring my team out of the relegation race!

Our teams seem to have gone different ways from a week or so ago. You need to figure out those fouls soon so you don't demote. Hess needs to start producing again soon as well.

As we are part way through the season, here are some of the rankings to pay attention to for the seeding of our National Tournament

Top 2 teams are sitting pretty!

#46 San Diego (1st in conference at 16-2)
#51 Colorado (2nd at 13-5)

Next few teams are going to have to do some soul searching and the coaches are going to have to muster a few more wins out of their squads:

#84 North Carolina (3rd at 12-6)
#100 Franklin (8th at 9-9)
#101 Hardin-Simmons (4th at 11-7)

These teams are going to need a bit of luck to get into the tournament:

#115 Jacksonville State (7th at 10-8)
#125 La Salle (13th at 7-11)
#128 Connecticut (5th at 11-7)

These teams are not going to make the tournament at this point:

#139 SUNY Geneseo (6th at 10-8)
#140 Saint Louis (9th at 8-10)
#141 Carnegie Mellon (11th at 8-10)

Magic Numbers with 7 games left in the season (yes, a bit early, but will give you a standing of where you are at this point)

To win the league outright

San Diego - Magic Number is 4
North Carolina - 12
Colorado - 13
Connecticut, Hardin-Simmons or SUNY Geneseo - 14 (they would have to win every game and San Diego lose every game.....doubtful)

Promotion race

Top 2 teams here will promote, as I think San Diego will promote at this point since they have a solid 4 game lead over the rest of the field with 7 to go:

North Carolina - 7
Colorado - 9
Connecticut - 10
Hardin-Simmons - 10
SUNY Geneseo - 10
Jacksonville State - 11
Franklin - 12
Carnegie Mellon - 13
La Salle - 13

Relegation Race

Since the league is all jumbled up in records, even the top teams in the league (except San Diego), could demote if a team goes on a losing streak, so it is a bit unfair to list every team at this point. I will only list those with .500 records and below here for records keeping sake. Top 2 teams will stay out of relegation race in numbers below, but that could all change by season's end:

Carnegie Mellon - 6
La Salle - 6
Northern Arizona - 10
Saint Louis - 10
VMI - 12
Rose-Hulman - 12
Redlands - 12
New Hampshire - 14 (has to win out in order to stay in IV.4)

Above comment is extremely offensive. As someone with a younger brother who has Down's Syndrome and has many struggles in life, yet has completed in local Special Olympics events, I sincerely hope that your comment was caused by the "rage" of losing a fake online college basketball game, and not a real indication of your viewpoints on the lives of people who had NO control over being born with a pronounced developmental & cognitive disability.

Yeah, I love watching the special olympics and actually helping out with them since I have a few extended family members that participate as well. Might want to check your writing before posting. We all have to learn that lesson the hard way, and I have been known to write something and regret it later as well.

Magic Numbers with 4 games to go

To win the conference outright

San Diego 2
North Carolina 8
*Colorado doesn't have enough PD and best they could do it tie and lose by PD.

Promotion race

*note, San Diego has already promoted. Top 2 teams below will join San Diego in promoting to the next level:

North Carolina 2 (magic numbers reflect lead over 4th place teams) (+178 PD)
Colorado 3 (+169 PD)
Hardin-Simmons 7 (+141 PD)
Connecticut 7 (+104 PD)
SUNY Geneseo 7 (+33 PD)
Jacksonville State 8 (-24 PD)
La Salle 8 (-32 PD)
Franklin 8 (-48 PD)

Relegation race

*note - Redlands and New Hampshire have already relegated. 4 other teams from below will join them, bottom 4 below by the end of the season:

Hardin-Simmons, Connecticut, and SUNY Geneseo are still technically in the race for relegation, but their PD should be enough to prevent them from demoting

Jacksonville State, La Salle, and Franklin 2 (reflects combination of 2 wins or maybe 2 losses by the 1st team in final 6)
Northern Arizona 4
Carnegie Mellon 6 (reflects going against the 1st team above the relegation line below this mark)
VMI 7
Saint Louis 7
Rose-Hulman 8

Dang Bennett, I really thought you were going to win that game, but the last 6 minutes of the game today, your team turned the ball over way too much. I guess you could look at it and say it was Hardin-Simmons defense as well. It was a very close game except for those final 6 minutes.

Looks like the Colorado vs. Hardin-Simmons final game of the regular season could very well determine the final promotion spot. Stay tuned!

La Salle continues to be on a hot streak, and don't look now, but they could win out. They are 2 games back with 3 to go. Colorado, Hardin-Simmons, and Connecticut all have relatively tough schedules, so you never know! (Connecticut and Hardin-Simmons finish out on the road which is much tougher than at home).

chill out man. Your team is like the 13th most talented team in a 16 team conference. You are going to lose quite a bit when that happens.

Yeah your team has the second worst rating and the second worst overall ranking in your conference. You shouldn't expect to be winning many games when all the teams you play have considerably more talent.

I just got possession of my new house, so will be in and out until July 1st. I won't be posting any updates until then, but do enjoy those updates, so will do them when I return.

Btw Bennett, I think the opponent's defense also plays a factor in how your team plays as well. I didn't pay much attention to that until this season, and have had to totally change my team's play style around to get some wins. I enjoy trying to figure out how to go up against a very imposing team like San Diego. I guess I am saying play styles may come into play against certain defenses. Before this season I played a lot of zone, but switch it up from game to game now as I check on my opponent. Hope that helps a bit.

Big Game today:

Hardin-Simmons at Colorado

Winner promotes, loser stays in the conference next year. Hardin-Simmons leads in PD, Colorado leads in wins at this point. 1 Game for all the marbles!

The other thing to watch out for from this game is if Colorado makes the national tournament. As of now, they are "on the bubble" area of the tournament. If they win, they probably move up a bit in the tournament rankings. If they lose, they may join North Carolina and Jacksonville State in the "out" of the tournament area. Stay tuned.

Well, it was a good run. San Diego will win today by a big margin. I have a few key players out with injuries, so the cupboard is bare. I guess all I can hope for is San Diego somehow having an off game.

Oh well, it has been a great season, so hoping I can keep it close and make the D1 Tournament. Good luck San Diego

Looks like it was a close game, but Hardin-Simmons was shut out of the National Tournament. Congrats San Diego and North Carolina for making the tournament!
