In the midst of a disappointing season we caught up with Hornets head coach TJ Foster here’s what he had to say. “We have to get better defensively period. Our returners next year know that and we hope our recruiting class takes pride defensively.” Coach Foster later said that everything would be better as long as their team defense improved.

At a press conference yesterday evening outside of the Hornets Sports Center, a new president and head coach were unveiled to local media.

President RP, who bears a striking resemblance to Cal State Fullerton’s disgraced former President Loobins, painted the picture of a bright new future at Sac State alongside new Men’s Basketball Coach T.J. Foster.

“The bottom line is that while we’re a Division 2 program, the region and specifically the state of California certainly has enough talent to make this program a successful one, and I believe Coach Foster is the right man for the job” – RP

Coach Foster also set expectations for this current squad and the team moving forward – “We have an experienced team this year, but due to some negligence from the previous coaching staff we don’t have a lot of underclassmen. My first priority is to hit the road with my staff and find players who want to buy in to the culture we’re building at Sac State and are excited to be Hornets.”

After the Sacramento State Hornets had a great season last year, making it to the D2 elite 8, the Hornets have lost 4 out of 5 starters. From going from a 152 tpi last season to a 127 this season, we can only hope that some of our new youngsters can make a difference and stay in D1.

After going an impressive 8-2 to end the season, and a 28-15 record the Sacramento State Hornets did not make the playoff field after making the conference semis, they beat the Furman Paladins 3 times this season and they made the D2 march madness playoffs. I don’t know how this happened but we will be looking forward to the invitational games.
