Mar 09 2046: HOF Coach Tolbert hangs it up - by Joyd on July 16th, 2025
Basically the only head coach I have ever know, he took over during the 2022 season. As is often the case, he took over a team with very few scholarship players. That first team finished 2-39 but one of those s scholarship players, 2 time All American Elliott Atkins, led the 2025 squad to 39 wins and an elite 8. He led us into D1 for good in the 2029 season and II or III in 2033. He struggled mightily these last two seasons to keep us from demoting and delivering a respectable performance in the heartland tournament. The last task was hopefully delivering Christopher Maurer for his successor which unfortunately did not happen as he was partying and not hitting the books. He was 594-432 overall, with 6 30 win seasons and led us to 3 conference tourney wins, 3 division titles, 8 tourney appearances with perhaps the best overall team being the 2038 squad who finished 36-8 an earned the only 1 seed in program history. That season however ended in heartbreak. Though not as much as right now when he hung up his whistle. Warren Hoskins has an unenviable task following a legend.
Jan 07 2040: Bass with the follow - by Joyd on July 27th, 2024
Like Lynch yesterday Mark Bass had a game for the ages, 44 points with 10 made 3's on 14-25 shooting, both also records. How DOES my bottom half team beat the #6 overall squad Sioux Falls by 51 points? Hopefully at least it means the future is bright
Jan 05 2040: Lynch with a 20/20 - by Joyd on July 26th, 2024
In a 40 point win vs. Indiana he scored 21 points and dished out 22 assists. The latter is the most I've ever seen since having the team
Nov 21 2037: Sweep of rivals - by Joyd on March 23rd, 2024
Very pleased at our victories over Dayton, Xavier, Ohio and Cincinnati. Two at home, 2 on the road. Best was holding all 4 opponents at 80 or less. We tend to score but all give up a lot of points. Hoping for great things this season
Mar 20 2031: Injury marred season - by Joyd on April 3rd, 2023
Team lost 25 games due to injuries and finished below .500 and demotes. Hopefully next season will be better and we have lost our competitiveness from all the lost games these last 2 seasons. That being said we get frontcourt help next season with our first 4 star player in Hansen. The more exciting add may be Newberry, who we had a hot recruiting battle with Illinois over. One year at a time.
