Press Releases:

Mar 04 2051: Seniors 2051 - by MrMoneyMaker on April 20th, 2026

Thiel College Athletics celebrates the conclusion of the 2051 regular season by honoring two cornerstone seniors who have defined Tomcat basketball for the past four years. Alexander Scarpa and Les Keller represent the heart of this program and what it means to wear a jersey for this team.

Alexander Scarpa: Scarpa departs as one of the most prolific offensive threats in the conference. Averaging 21.9 PPG, he led the Tomcats' attack with a deadly perimeter game, leading the league in three-pointers made per game (4.6). He also was not selfish with the ball and finished 9th in assists per game (4.8). With playoffs right around the corner Scarpa will be looking to end his amazing career on a high note.

Les Keller: A cornerstone of the frontcourt, Keller provided the physical presence the Tomcats needed. He finishes his senior campaign nearly averaging a double-double with 11.5 PPG and 8.9 RPG. Ranking 9th in the league in rebounding and 5th in blocks (1.3 BPG), Keller’s defensive grit was the backbone of the team's interior defense, and he will be missed very much by his teammates.

Despite the regular season not going the way we wanted this year, the program seems to be heading in the right direction as alumni and students seem to be more interested in attending basketball games. While the program prepares for a new era under a potentially new coaching staff, the foundation laid by these two seniors has kept the Tomcat spirit alive through one of the most challenging stretches in school history. With this acknowledged it is time for playoff basketball. Go Tomcats!
