Knights Ride Conference Momentum into Showdown with Adrian
CARLETON, Mich. — The Carleton Knights men’s basketball team will look to build on recent conference success as they prepare for a pivotal matchup against Adrian, currently the fourth-place team in the conference standings. The Knights enter the contest with a 3–10 overall record and a 2–1 mark in conference play after securing their second conference victory of the season.
Carleton has shown significant growth since the start of conference competition, demonstrating improved defensive intensity and more consistent offensive execution. The Knights’ recent win provided a much-needed boost in confidence and has energized both the locker room and the program as a whole.
“Getting that second conference win was huge for our guys,” said Head Coach Darrin Hirch. “We’ve been battling all season, and to see that hard work translate into results is something this team deserves. Now the challenge is to keep that momentum going against a very strong Adrian squad.”
Adrian enters the game as one of the top teams in the conference, presenting a difficult test for a Knights team still working to climb the standings. The matchup will be a key opportunity for Carleton to measure its progress and continue establishing itself as a competitive force within conference play.
The Knights have emphasized physical defense, rebounding, and ball movement in recent practices, areas the coaching staff believes will be critical against Adrian’s balanced and experienced lineup.
“Our focus is on playing our style of basketball,” Coach Hirch added. “If we defend, communicate, and execute on offense, we’ll give ourselves a chance to compete with anyone in this conference.”
Tipoff is scheduled for Wed. Mar. 25th @ 1:00 p.m. at Adrain's stadium, where the Knights will look to secure their third conference win and continue their push up the standings.
