Well, some GMs / presidents are good, they can beat bots handily. Some GMs / presidents are bad, they keep on losing to bots, LOL!!! Just facts of the game, I guess.

Twolvesfan21 the green light just says that the player should choose to shoot not pass, otherwise there is no point in this setting I can just see how the best player of the team(IRL) doesn't want to score points in order to improve his statistics and be drafted to the NBA.

https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/roster/838 https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/conference/62 First off everytime you post a team's TPI/WSI we really don't care. Those don't mean much without real context. See above for a reason TPI/WSI doesn't matter. Now, let's try and see the real logic behind you losing. You're overthinking a single matchup without looking at the real problems on your team Your tactics might be the problem, as a lot of zone might be having Flood's defense look bad due to him switching to make up for another teammate's poor play and he's stuck in a bad spot. I see a major problem with your turnovers. No one on your team can dribble, 21.8% of all possessions end in turnovers (Worst in your conference). Idk about basketball, but in Football if a team wins the turnover battle they win 70% of the time. You have your guys purposefully playing inefficiently. You have the 4th-worst 3pt% and while you don't take a ton of them, we should eliminate a bad shot. This is the expected value for each shot. 2P EV = 1.08 3P EV = 0.99, you choose to take 14.6 shots a game that are 8.4% less valuable than a regular 2. You have the 2nd-worst 3pt defense and 5th-worst overall in the conference, why don't we extend that defense a little to stop the 3-ball that has a 3p ev of 1.15. Hector had one bad offensive game, it happens, and he's still positive across the season. But lets please attempt to address real issues with your team for once before complaining about one player having an off-day. Also, a 6'3 "PF isn't doing you favors.

Dytrea123 Regarding zone defense, many teams have won conferences playing only zone, including the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars(by the way they are in 1st place in TO in the conference, but they won the conference). I also saw a lot of teams with 6'1-6'5 centers and everything was fine. https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/178506/A Here is a player who made 30 shots per game and he carried the team single-handedly, why couldn't Flood play the same way and make more shots? And in defense, he only played better with each season. https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/215759 SF of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars, who played Zone D but he has better OFG than Flood. and when playing zone D we miss a lot of shots in the paint.

Regarding Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars (UIS), they had a great season and won the conference. Congrats to ScrappyDefense and his hard work. I will try to break down why his team works defensively, but he’s right here and can correct me if I guess wrong. He also had the best offensive turnover rate, 12.4%, while having the second-best defensive ratio, 20.1%. Why? What is different for him? Defensively, we can do what you like to do and compare players straight up. Health and Castle are night and day when it comes to talent, but their defense is not that far from each other. Health is 53.3 eOFG%, and Castle is 50.8%, while you want that 2.5% it isn’t crazy. Yet we also need to look at turnovers generated, Health 1.7 stocks (Steals + blocks) vs Castle 2.6 stocks. We can see Castle plays more minutes, but the stocks per minute are in Castle’s favor. Health is taller than Castle, but PG is the position where you can get away with height the most from my experience. Castle’s PD, IQ, and SPD are all better than Health’s. We have the same thing for Chambers vs Beyer, Mesa vs Austin has a vast difference in ID and SPD, Schafer vs Moyer your guy finally has the better IQ and SPD, which helps but his ID is 6 and he is 6’3 Schafer is playing really well because he is 6’11 and 15 ID with decent SPD and IQ for his position. We have now arrived at Flood vs Rodgers. Flood is taller, better defense, faster, and smarter than Rodgers. Yet Rodgers has a better eOFG% by 7.1%, how? We are finally full circle to tactics, UIS runs zone. Rodgers has the more important defense for SF, PD, but he should still be equal or worse than Flood, but we are running zone where each player gets help and switches. UIS' overall team makeup is better than yours, so Rodgers' load is much easier than Flood’s. From my perspective, the overall better players on UIS is the reason we see their zone working and yours doesn’t, like I said before, Flood is getting bad help and bad switches, which affects his defensive numbers. https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/147298 I am very aware that short bigs can work, especially in D3. I had a guy who I posted above who got Trine to D1 back in the day, the difference between him and Moyer is that Kovac was a dawg on offense 15 IS and 16 OS. On defense, he had 15 ID and 13 PD. He also had 13 rebounds, which is needed as a Center. https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/136087 6’4 PF John Kaufman was with Kovac on my rise to D1, he could knock down the 3 ball really well which made up for his height. Even though he is 16 ID the height was really bad so he got picked on. The 3 ball made him serviceable, Moyer is not right now. I am very aware of The Dragon, if you want advice on how to run a team like Kalamazoo did for him I can help with that as I did a version that was 5 dragons instead of 1. But you are failing to see the talent around him as he went through his career, mostly 2 stars who took time to develop and as they developed together they achieved more success and better defensive numbers. Chan, Westbrook, Venturi, Robinson, Oyekan, and Mendoza were all baking in the oven getting better, that supported his rise in play. and when playing zone D we miss a lot of shots in the paint. Defense doesn't factor into offensive execution. Your players just miss shots on their own I guess.

Just my opinion after over 6 years playing this game and with various teams. In the low divisions like league 5 and 6 you can get by with short players at C or PF. However, ask any league 1 to 3 team how well a 6, 2 or so C or PF will do. It's not as easy to even get to the upper divisions, (which I was able to do years ago because it was a whole lot easier back then) and if you didn't have a good and tall C or PF forget it, you would be toast. So after saying that and while taking in to consideration how very difficult it is now to even get a lousy 7 foot foot or tall meaning 6-7 or better player I look for players with the potential to be at least 6-7 and if they are a PG or a back court guy then I train them to be a C or a PF by putting them in that position and in a season or so depending on how much time they are in games, they will learn the position. Then when they are juniors or seniors they will be much more valuable in their new position than they would be at PG or whatever. Just my 2 cents because just because a player has PG listed as their position in high school does not mean they can't play a different position in college.

Dytrea123I didn't quite understand the comparison between my team and UIS,we play in different divisions and he has players with a higher SI.And you describe a real game more than a computer game. About Zone D IRL: "+" Rim protection - Generally protects the basket better and a well played zone causes opponents to rush shots (causes impatience by the offense). i.e. we shouldn't let much of the paint through "-" Offense can create favorable matchups - The offense can take advantage of mismatches by putting their best player in the "zone area" of the opponents' weakest defender. this is where Moyers OFg should suffer, but not Floods Defense doesn't factor into offensive execution. Your players just miss shots on their own I guess. Then it's even stranger that Flood with better skills throws worse. https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/game/1094794 This is the game that cost us 3rd place last season. I understand that the algorithms are limited and it is not possible to build something of your own using the settings, so you need to understand the working algorithms and act strictly within them.

| It seems you have been complaining about the game engine ever since you started playing which I would assume means you care enough to make a winning program. Forget the game engine, everything starts with the players on your team. Your team is just not serious which is why you struggled this season in D3. Lets start with Moyer. A 6'3 PF is simply not a recipe for winning in Hardwood.. Hector Flood should have been your no brainer starting PF this year. Second, your team completely lacks Outside Shot almost to the point where it seems like you recruit to NOT have any. The basics of basketball is scoring more than your opponent. How do you expect to do so when your team lacks any shooting? All of your true freshman you recruited have <6 OS. You even recruited a PG Dan Jankowski ( https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/224492 ) with an abysmal 3 OS! Sure he is going to be a decent passer and defender but a non scoring threat at PG will diminish his playmaking impact and thus limit your team's offense overall. (which we see is happening with PG Heath Holt) On top of that, your team also lacks defense (PD/ID). Without shooting or defense, how do you expect to win? Third, your current 2 committed recruits you have are problematic as well Marchenko ( https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/244362 ). Good size for a wing but has no defensive skill at all and is slow. He has no OS comment too so he won't be some great offensive engine as well. He'll just be a passable playmaking wing with no other positive attributes about him by the time he graduates. Gallagher ( https://onlinecollegebasketball.org/player/232672 ) seems decent at face value until you see he has only developed 20 skill points in 4 years, atrocious. Finally, your recruiting board is also empty. Recruiting early and battling for good players is crucial, but you’re only on 2 players right now, and you’re losing both battles. Where have your contacts gone this season? In short, stop blaming the engine when your roster construction is the real issue. Have a vision of the team you want to build. If you want a defensive team, focus for PD/ID/Spd/IQ. For an offensive team look for OS/IS(for PF/C)/Rng/PA/Spd/IQ. For a balanced team, look for a mix of both.
