Providence College congratulates NYU on winning the D3 Championship. Down by two with only 14 seconds remaining the Friars had two chances to tie the score only to have both shots blocked. Team captain Johnny Heaton- a departing Senior walk-on was inconsolable after the game.

For Providence this season has proven to be an absurdist comic opera. Only in Division 3 could a story such as this happen. Thankfully D3 falls under the radar. With one more win the former dustbin of a program will find themselves in the final four. Get out your hankies- heartbreak is dead ahead in the shape of Division 3 #1 ranked UMass Boston.
