Adelphi Head coach Pablo Ramirez was fired today in a stunning move after 8 seasons at the helm.

Ramirez finishes his tenure with the 2nd most wins in franchise history (155) as he guided the Panthers to their first Division I promotion and Division II tournament appearance in 2046. President NotSoGood88 cited Ramirez's declining recruiting skills in a press release justifying the move.

Following in his stead will be 45-year old Phillip Rader in his first head coaching job after stints as an assistant at Holy Family and Upper Iowa.

With Adelphi 66-53 triumph over Memphis today, the Panthers (7-4, 1-0 V.2) moved above .500 in Division 2 conference play for the first time in over 25 seasons. Adelphi has not held such a distinction since defeating Tulane, 67-56, on December 8, 2018.

Panthers head coach Pablo Ramirez, then a 29-year old assistant at South Alabama, downplayed the milestone, opting to focus on the ongoing quest for the program's first-ever promotion to Division 1.
