Jan 27 2018: Sewanee’s Recruiting Haul - by NotSoGood88 on March 19th, 2021

Hank Beard: Beard, our most recent commit, seems to be able to do everything but handle the ball. However, he looks poised for stardom with a glowing scouting report, excellent stats, and 4 years to grow. With Culp & Monroe leaving, he’ll take some pressure off guards who are playing at center.

Paul Isaacs: Isaacs looks like he’s gonna be a good shooter and defender, though, like Beard, he can’t get a grip on the ball when he’s dribbling. He also has a solid HS career on his resume, and we can’t wait to see what he becomes.

Now, for a depth chart preview.

PG 1: Darius Douglas
PG 2: Tim Lane

SG 1: Cecil Babcock
SG 2: Landry Tate

SF 1: Sheldon Brennan
SF 2: Cody Wisniewski

PF 1: Cliff Young
PF 2: Paul Isaacs

C 1: Hank Beard
C 2: Paul Isaacs

The coaching staff is far from perfect, but there is a specialist in every category, which’ll make our team better. Currently, they’re heaping praise on 2 underrated players: Deshawn Monroe and Landry Tate.

Oct 06 2016: Escobar Hired As HC - by NotSoGood88 on December 19th, 2020

With no people to recruit this year, Sewanee seized the opportunity to make an effortless coaching change without any bad effects.

OUT: Garry Langston: Langston was good at coaching offense, could recruit, and coach offense, but his defensive coaching was *beep*. It was a distaste last season, as the Tigers were last in conference plays in points allowed (84.9) and next to last in scoring (65.7). I could go deeper, but not today. 4-37 does not get you rehired.

IN: Cole Walden: We are trying to go young, and 36-year old Walden is an ideal solution. He has 9 DEV, 11 TAC, and 11 REC, while everything else is 10s. This is the guy we want and this is the long-term fix for the Tigers.
